A solo angler’s dream for wherever, whenever adventures.
The key to landing more fish is simple: more time on the water. Whether you’re an early-morning angler casting lines into glassy clear water or an after-work hustler looking to pounce on the evening hatch, those of us who fish know we’re always simply between casts.
The folks at NRS know this too, and in the past few years they’ve produced a fleet of fishing-specific boats that redefine accessibility. For 2025, they’re taking it to the next level with the Oxbow 85, an open-bow raft that combines the capability of a pontoon boat with the convenience of a float tube.

“This boat is built to travel to any destination in pursuit of fish,” says Mike Dolmage, director of fish & product manager at NRS. “With the Oxbow 85, we applied our decades of raft-building experience to create a more versatile kick boat for anglers who prefer a quieter solo adventure bringing them even closer to the water.”
The Oxbow 85 is built for the solo angler who does it all—lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. Its compact design eliminates the need for a trailer. Instead, throw it in the truck bed or strap it to the roof rack. No need to queue up at a busy boat ramp. Simply pick your spot, hop the railing and start your tally.

Built using the same high-quality materials as full-size NRS rafts, the Oxbow 85 is constructed with an ultra-rugged PVC material that’s welded to ensure top-notch air retention. Top and bottom wear patches withstand the abrasion of shallow streams and rocky banks, and quality Leafield C7 valves are robust and easy to use.
Paired with the raft is a lightweight aluminum frame that features NRS’s game-changing Slot Rail system, which allows for near-limitless customization. Everything can be mixed and matched to fit your needs, from the position of the seat and foot brace, to where you stash your drink, rod and paddle. Add extra storage boxes for all-day excursions or mount a camera and share your adventures with friends and followers.
The fully open bow makes it especially easy to get in and out of the boat. Don waders and hop out to quietly access the banks, or strap on a pair of fins and maintain perfect position in the current. When one spot runs dry, hop back in the cushioned seat, grab the full-size oars and comfortably row to the next.

In the stern is a suspended mesh floor perfect for hauling cargo, dropping in a cooler or stashing a dry bag. Plus, a selection of precisely placed tie-down points gives anglers options for strapping down gear when things get choppy.
All of this comes together in service of the Oxbow 85’s ultimate goal: giving anglers the freedom to hit the water whenever and wherever the opportunity arises.
The NRS Oxbow 85 is a solo angler’s dream, and a great option for those looking to escape the crowds and carve out their own adventure.
