When fishing conditions look like this, it's time to tie flies

Mild fishing conditions persist across much of the West. The Midwest and Northeast just had the first significant winter storm. The East has been a bit cold, but not too bad. Some rivers are closed for the season.

Hopefully, if you’re still fishing, you’re staying warm. If the water is frozen, it’s time to fish hardwater (aka ice fishing), organize your gear, tie flies, head somewhere warmer, and plan for 2026.
