TU named conservation sponsor at Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Festival

The Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Festival.

Join fellow fly anglers from Trout Unlimted at the annual Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Festival — now in its fourth year — March 21-22 at the Plano Event Center 20 miles north of Dallas.

The Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Festival draws anglers from throughout Texas and the surrounding region, including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Arizona, New Mexico and Louisiana. Held at the Plano Event Center just 20 miles north of Dallas, the event focuses on bringing new people into the sport of fly fishing and, highlights hand-crafted brews.

Fly fishing manufacturers, lodges, guides, tourism agencies, breweries and specialty instructors are among the more than 90 vendors who hail from all over the country.

“We eagerly welcome beginners into the sport,” says Festival Director Beau Beasley. “We offer specialty classes for every angler — from the complete novice to the near-expert. We have beginner, intermediate, and advanced casting classes.”

This year there will be a brand-new Bourbon and Bass Bug class: students will learn about the right bass bug for warm water environs — and taste
some bourbon made in the Lone Star State.

Anglers are also encouraged to attend the Women and the Future
of Fly Fishing Meet and Greet sponsored by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation.

“How better to fulfill our mission of reaching the next generation of conservationists,” asks Chris Wood, president and CEO of TU, “than to be the conservation sponsor for this unique family-friendly event?”

Attendees over 21 will be able to sample craft beer and distilled spirits. Visit the event’s website for the latest information.
