Everybody loves the venerable Chernoble Ant—the high-floating foam creation that late-summer trout simply can’t seem to resisit.
Above, Tim Flagler ties his Chubby Chernobyl, and even gawdier, nuclear-inspired critter that “floats like a cork and works like a charm.” Indeed, it is “Hopper Season,” after all—there’s no better time to tie up the big, fat terrestrial imitations than right now, when trout are looking up for the big bugs that end up on the water thanks to warm summer breezes.
If you haven’t had a chance to get in on Hopper Season yet, here’s your chance.
