One of the biggest challenges for new fly fishers is learning water, understanding where trout might hold and approaching water with a solid fishing strategy.
Above, Russ Miller of Fishpond does a great job describing how to approach a classic meadow stream, and offers up some excellent advice on “editing” the stream into fishable chunks. It’s important that anglers, regardless of the size of the river they are fishing, break down the water into pieces that can be attacked separately. This is a wonderful primer.
