Vote for the best amateur fly fishing film

RIO products is sponsoring its annual Amateur Fly Fishing Film Awards to encourage novice filmmakers to document fishing adventures through video, and voting is now live for the general public.

The company is hosting several amateur fly fishing films on its website, all of which are free to view. There are two categories in which filmmakers are competing: The RIO Award, which is being judged by a panel of RIO experts; and the Viewer’s Choice Award, which is judged by the number of views each film recieves. The winner of the RIO Award will win a three-day trip to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to fish with RIO pros, $300 worth of RIO products, a $500 cash prize and an entry into the International Fly Fishing Film Festival. The runner-up for the RIO Award will receive $500 in RIO products.

The Viewer’s Choice Award winner will win $1,000 in RIO, Redington and Sage products. The runner-up gets $500 in RIO products. Voting lasts through May 11 (Friday), and winners will be announced the week of May 14.
