Streamer fishing with a Euro-nymph rod

If you have any questions about Euro-nymphing, competitive angler Lance Egan likely has the answers.

And if you’re just using your long Euro-nymphing rod for, well, Euro-nymphing, you might be just scratching the surface.

Above, Lance uses a typical Euro-nymph rig to bounce streamers along the bottom … and he’s catching fishing doing it. Euro rigs might be long and supple, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be versatile.

That’s the lesson, of course. Finding ways to use your gear to achieve results is something most anglers are familiar with. As Lance ably demonstrates, the long rods used for high-sticking nymphs through trouty runs are also pretty effective at jigging streamers through that same fishy water.
