Video spotlight: Australia - Tasmania Fly Fishing Trailer

A relatively small island off Australia’s southern coast, Tasmania is the smallest state in the commonwealth of Australia.

Like another nearby island — New Zealand — “Tassie” features some incredible fly fishing. Not only is there plenty of river fishing, Tasmania has more than 1,000 lakes, plenty of which are filled with wild trout.

The trailer of this film by Todd Moen provides a peak at sight-fishing these shallow lakes for bruiser browns, which cruise around like sharks as they sip mayfly spinners.

After you watch this the first word you associate with Tasmania might not be “devil.”
