Forgive the overpowering soundtrack and the gratuitous use of the GoPro. Focus on the fish.
I’ve had the good luck to visit Patagonia a couple of times and fish both lakes and rivers for plus-size trout. But these rainbows from Strobel Lake in Argentina are … unbelievable. Notice how the anglers are essentially tossing large streamers off the edge of a drop-off, and that the fish seem to be pretty keen on anything pulled with regularity toward the bank.
Lake fishing isn’t my forte. Nor do I particularly enjoy it, particularly when you have hustle around the waterscape to find fish. But this lake, with it’s obvious structure, might just get me to change my mind.
