If you’re like me, you value good gear—stuff that lasts as long as the pricetag indicates it should last. I’m on my third summer with a pair of Simms G4 stocking-foot, zipper-front waders, and they’ve yet to let me down. They will eventually—wear and tear gets to everything. But when they do, it’s comforting to know that Simms stands by their products and I can get them repaired. The video below is a good primer on how TU’s corporate and conservation partners at Simms approach their craft.
Simply put, their products are among the best in the business because they invest in their people and approach wader-making as a true craft. It may not seem so to us on the water, with nothing separating our dry nether regions from ice-cold water except the waders we wisely purchased from Simms. Sure, there are other quality waders out there, and you can certainly find less expensive products. But, when it comes to waders, the phrase, “You get what you pay for” may never ring more true.
