Thanks to Arlin Grimes and his Aqua Terra Restoration business, the Rattlesnake Dam near Missoula, Mont., is now down

Two construction workers help remove a dam in Montana.

TU works with some extremely talented characters while developing and completing projects in the field that help make fishing better. We are excited to bring you a series highlighting these Contractors. We hire equipment operators, truck drivers, laborers, material suppliers, engineers, technicians, and water testing labs. They are unique, talented, humble and some are downright wild, but…

Shop local with a TU Business member

We have somewhere over 400 great TU Business members. Check them out. Buy some gear. Book a trip. Buy a gift card. You’ll be glad you did, and so will the fish.

My dad was a small businessman in a small town. He managed an old-fashioned mercantile store, where you could buy anything from Christmas candy to horseshoe nails. I don’t think he ever loved it. It’s light, coming in at 2.7 oz. in a 5-weight. That’s not a lot different than plenty of other 5-weights, but you…

And when I see the latter, I become somewhat laser-focused. Rising fish are feeding fish, and feeding fish are eminently catchable.  In the absence of rising…
